The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Dept. presents a Dinner Theatre production of God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Poems in Verse, November 6th at the Charleston Area Convention Center Ballroom. This theatrical performance by Ron and Natalie Daise of one of James Weldon Johnson’s most celebrated works is a tribute to African American culture and heritage. The production includes a cappella selections of Gullah spirituals and will appeal to lovers of inspirational writing, scholars of African-American culture, and anyone who appreciates great poetry. The couple’s dramatic readings and performances are inspirational and enjoyable, embodying the energy, vitality, and culture that James Weldon Johnson envisioned.
