Creative Textures in Clay
City of Columbia Parks and Recreation offers a “Creative Textures in Clay” class, June 25 from 10:30am to 2pm at Columbia Art Center. Participants will learn how to work with carving and use of roller stamps, painting with slip, transfer images and more. The class is instructed by Betsy Kaemmerlen, who is known for her creative textures and distortions in the clay prior to assembling. A few glazing techniques will also be covered. Registration fee of $40 includes clay but students must bring their own tools. Registration deadline is June 15. Class size limited to 5 minimum and 10 maximum.
