Concurrent Solo Exhibits – Renée Fleuranges-Valdes & Pascale Sexton Bilgis
In Finding JOY!, nationally exhibiting quilter and textile artist Renée Fleuranges-Valdes brings her energetic and exuberant nature to her fiber art, showcasing black femininity. The show debuts two of her latest series: Simple Pleasures and Curvy Ladies, alongside a select few of her other well-known pieces. In her exhibition, Little Flat People, local artist Pascale Sexton Bilgis presents little clay figures set among wood frames and panels with vibrant acrylic backgrounds. Bilgis seamlessly blends two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements to demonstrate the fundamental similarities between people. The artists will host a free public reception at the gallery on Friday, January 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. On view: January 5-29, 2022. Gallery hours: Wednesday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 pm, Saturday 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
