Columbia Baroque Concert: Musical Splendor from the Grand Courts of Europe, “The Palace of Versailles”

Columbia Baroque presents a concert full of musical splendor from the Grand Courts of Europe January 27th at the USC School of Music Recital Hall. The program features two of Corrette’s “Concerto Comiques,” plus a Montclair cantata for solo voice and instruments, harpsichord music by Pancrace Royer, and a chaconne for gamba by Marais. Ensemble music of Boismortier and Dornel features a beautiful liaison of French and Italian styles. “Concert Conversations” by Sarah F. Williams begins at 7 p.m. followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Students free with ID.
