Columbia Baroque Concert: Musical Splendor from the Grand Courts of Europe “The British Monarchy”
Columbia Baroque celebrates the liaison between the British and German monarchies with the music of Handel. The concert includes selections from Handel’s Water Music and Music for the Royal Fireworks, two of his nine German Songs, and variations on Greensleeves. Performers are Brittnee Siemon, mezzo soprano; Jean Hein, Baroque recorders; Mary Hosteler Hoyt, Baroque violin; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; and Jerry Curry, harpsichord. The performance takes place October 28th at the Columbia College Spears Center for the Arts. Sarah Williams will present “Concert Conversations” at 7 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $15 – $20.
