CANCELLED: Columbia Baroque Concert: “Charmante Nuit” (“Charming Night”)

Columbia Baroque presents “Charmante Nuit” (“Charming Night”), a program of French Baroque music featuring lilting instrumental dances by Marais, Dornel, and Rebel; songs for springtime by Julie Pinel for voice with gamba and recorder obbligatos; and rapturous love songs by Lully and Lambert. Performers for the evening are Brittnee Siemon, mezzo-soprano; Jean Hein, baroque recorder; Mary Hostetler Hoyt, baroque violin; Erika Cutler, baroque violin; Hazel Ketchum, lute, soprano; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; and Jerry Curry, harpsichord. The concert will be held May 12th, in the University of South Carolina School of Music Recital Hall, on campus in Columbia. “Concert Conversations” with Sarah F. Williams begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m.
