Christmas at Furman with Furman Symphony, Furman Singers and Chorales
The Furman University Symphony Orchestra, the Furman Singers and the Men’s and Women’s Chorales will present “Christmas at Furman” December 2nd at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium on campus in Greenville. The performance includes Benjamin Britten’s “St. Nicholas,” the story of the 4th-century Christian saint and Bishop of Myra whose secret gift giving led to the traditional role of Santa Claus. Faculty tenor Dr. Grant Knox is featured in the title role. For the second half of the concert, Joiner leads the FSO in extended excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” including passages rarely heard without dancers. Tickets: $5-$12.
