Charleston Library Society Speaker Series: Dick Wall
On Thursday, August 27, the Charleston Library Society hosts Dick Wall tell the story of his late wife, Carol Wall, her friendship with Giles Owita and her poignant book, Mr. Owita’s Guide to Gardening. This novel tells the story of two unlikely friends who affirm life within the eventuality of death. Though they are seemingly quite different, a caring bond grows between them. But Carol and Giles both hold long-buried secrets that, when revealed, will cement their friendship forever. Mr. Owita’s Guide to Gardening was named one of the Top Ten Books of 2014 by USA Today and one of the best books of 2014 by AARP. The event will begin at 6pm and is free. The Charleston Library Society is located at 164 King Street.
