Charleston Black Theatre presents George Washington’s Boy

Charleston Black Theatre presents George Washington’s Boy February 17 at 6 p.m. at West Ashley High School in Charleston. Written by Ted Lange (Isaac the bartender in the 70s TV series, The Love Boat) and directed by Yvonne Broaddus, George Washington’s Boy portrays the fight for freedom, the Declaration of Independence, and the first presidency of the U.S. from the view point of Washington’s slave and confidant Billy Lee. Serving his master throughout monumental times, Lee was privy to Washington’s innermost thoughts and actions. A must-see for Black History Month. The show is supported in part by the City of Charleston, the S. C. Arts Commission and CresCom Bank. Tickets $10 – $15.
