Chamber Music Charleston Presents: Tango Meets Classical

To launch the brand new Chamber Music with Friends Concert Series, Chamber Music Charleston is pleased to welcome internationally renowned Bandoneon player JP Jofre and virtuoso violinist Francisco Fullana for a program of music for bandoneon, piano, and strings at Sottile Theatre.  Classical music merges with the sultry sounds of the tango as musicians perform original works by JP Jofre, including “Como el Agua,” “Primavera,” and “Tango Movements.”  The concert concludes with Richard Struass’ blazingly energetic piano quartet.
Native from San Juan, Argentina, Juan Pablo Jofre Romarion aka JP Jofre is a GRAMMY® Award-nominated composer and bandoneon player. A recipient of the National Prize of the Arts grant in Argentina, Mr. Jofre has been repeatedly highlighted by The New York Times.
