Cesar Chavez, a Chautauqua Talk led by bi-lingual poet Vera Gomez

Greenville Chautauqua presents performance poet Vera Gómez May 2 at 7 p.m. at the Hughes Main Library in Greenville. Gómez will discuss Cesar Chavez’s message of non-violence, protest and hope. Gómez was born to immigrant parents in the farming community of Lubbock, Texas, and Chavez was the voice that spoke for her family. Gómez is SmartArts’ teaching poet, a founding member of Greenville Poetry Slam and author of “Barrio Voices.”  Free.
