CCU Celebrates 50 Years of Public Support for the Arts

Coastal Carolina University celebrates 50 years of public support for the arts November 3 at 6 p.m. with a celebration of artists who have earned awards through the S.C. Arts Commission over the past five decades, including CCU faculty members and recipients in surrounding counties. Honorees have been recognized through Individual Artist Fellowships, the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Governor’s Award for the Arts or the Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Award. Awardees will read poetry, perform original music and present theater pieces that earned their awards. An art exhibition will also be on display, and a reception follows the event. Free. Presented by the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
