Come join award-winning author Dr. Walter Curry as he signs his book The Awakening: The Seawright-Ellison Family Saga, Vol.1, A Narrative History on Saturday, August 12 @ 12 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Bookstore, 3400 Forest Drive, Columbia.

There will be Columbia African American history displays that feature Dr. Curry’s ancestral connections to historic Ward One, Washington Street Business District, Palmetto State Barbers Association, and the desegregation of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, featured in the book.
