Board Engagement and Cultivation for Arts Organizations

The South Carolina Arts Alliance is proud to partner with Solutions By Shawn Edwards, with support from the South Carolina Arts Commission and Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, to offer a series of trainings to help South Carolina arts organizations improve the management, governance, and engagement of boards of directors.

During this session, participants will explore the “who” and the “what” of nonprofit board leadership; through discovery of the different types of boards, their function, and the level of engagement expected from each board type.

Participants will also explore research supported recruitment methods to cultivate the board members they desire, with an emphasis on board culture and retention.
