Beginning Clay Handbuilding with Liv Antonecchia, Ages 12 & up
The Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston is offering Beginning Clay Handbuilding classes September 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th from 6 – 8 p.m. Instructor Liz Antonecchia will introduce participants to handbuilding with clay using slab, coil and solid form construction. Surface techniques taught include textures in clay, making stamps, sgraffito and basic image transfer. Functional and sculptural projects are demonstrated in each class. Shared tools are available for each student with a basic tool set suggested to purchase. All work will be fired offsite by instructor. Great class for beginners, but experienced students will not be bored. Ages 12 and up. $150 member, $175 nonmember.
