Barry Lopez, author of “Arctic Dreams,” to speak in Charleston
The Avian Conservation Center and Center for Birds of Prey welcome natural history writer Barry Lopez for the author’s first visit to Charleston, September 10th at The Charleston Museum. Lopez is best known as the author of “Arctic Dreams,” for which he received the National Book Award. Among his other nonfiction books are “About This Life” and “Of Wolves and Men,” which was a National Book Award finalist. During this presentation, “Conservation and the Human Community,” Mr. Lopez will share personal insight into the natural world developed through years of traveling the planet’s different cultures and landscapes. The presentation will be followed by a reception and book signing with the author.
