Bach Festival Program I: Born in 1670
The Bach Society of Charleston celebrates the 350th anniversary of the Charles Towne Landing with Bach Festival 2020, honoring Charleston’s founding in music. “Program I: Born in 1670” features the work of acclaimed Baroque musicians who were all born in 1670. The concert includes compositions by Giovanni Bononcini, Antonio Caldara, and Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fisher; and music associated with singers Julie d’Aubigny (“La Maupin”) and Richard Leveridge. The evening’s performers will play Baroque period string instruments, March 5th at 7:30 PM, at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston.
