Art Workshop for People With Alzheimer’s Disease

NOURISH, a program of Mental Fitness, Inc. that uses the arts as a means to improve mental health, will host arts workshops, starting in February, for those struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease. The workshop, occurring every Thursday evening at 6 p.m., runs through the end of July. Participants will create a 2016 calendar with personalized dates and artwork, inspired by local artist Antoinette Hesla who studied Therapeutic Arts to enhance the daily life of her mother who was diagnosed with dementia. Lead by Toni Hesla, the workshop will utilize markers, watercolors, and colored pencils. All materials and instruction will be provided. Participants must pay either in advance or online upon registration.
