Ancestor Project Gallery Talk with poet Julia Johnson and visual artist Anna Redwine
Where does creativity come from? Do poets sit alone in quiet rooms waiting for lines to come? Do painters toil away alone in their studios? What happens when they work together? Cousins and collaborators Julia Johnson, a poet, and Anna Redwine, a visual artist, have been working and traveling together on an interdisciplinary project about family, identity, and displacement. On September 29 at 2 p.m., at If ART Gallery in Columbia, the New Orleans natives will discuss their project, their creative processes and what it means to collaborate with someone whose form of expression is so different from your own.
