Adventures in Clay: Classes for Students Ages 11-17 (March/April)
Columbia Art Center offers Adventures in Clay classes for students ages 11-17, with instruction by Sonia Neale, in multiple sessions throughout the year: March 9th through April 13th, May 4th through June 15th, September 14th through October 19th, and November 9th through December 21st. Each session meets Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm for six weeks. It’s an opportunity for students who have an interest in working with clay to get their hands messy and explore their creative side using the medium. Participants will explore techniques including hand-building, surface treatment and glazing, to create functional as well as sculptural pieces of three-dimensional clay art work. The registration fee covers instruction, materials and operational costs. Students must have their own pottery tools. Each session requires a minimum enrollment of three and a maximum of 10. The registration deadline is two weeks before the first class.
