The Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is proud to present A Lasting Impression: A Private Collection of European Art (1860-1983), a captivating exhibition exploring the light, color and atmosphere that define the Impressionist tradition. The exhibition will be on view June 13 through September 27, 2026, inviting visitors to experience works that capture fleeting moments and the beauty of everyday life.

A groundbreaking movement that emerged in France in the mid to late 19th century, Impressionism transformed the art world by emphasizing visible brushstrokes, vibrant color and the changing effects of light. The 58 works in A Lasting Impression include landscapes, pastoral scenes and moments of quiet reflection.
