A Forgotten Legacy-The Music of James Reese Europe

Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Greenville presents A Forgotten Legacy – The Music of James Reese Europe February 28 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.  This presentation celebrates the lives of James Reese Europe, band leader, and Freddie Stowers, the first African American to be awarded the Medal of Honor in World War I. The event includes a concert of Hell Fighter band music by the Greenville Jazz Collective’s Early Jazz Combo.
