701 CCA: Residency and Exhibition by Prize Winner Shannon Rae Lindsey
701 Center for Contemporary Art in Columbia, S.C., presents an exhibition of works by Shannon Rae Lindsey, winner of the 701 CCA Prize 2014, May 7 through June 21. An Artist’s Reception will be held Thursday, May 7, from 7 to 9pm. The 701 CCA Prize 2014 is a competition and exhibition for South Carolina artists 40 years and younger. The Prize’s purpose is to identify and recognize young South Carolina artists whose work is exemplary in its originality, shows awareness of artistic developments and is of high artistic merit. Lindsey was the January/February artist in residence at 701 CCA. In 2014, the center presented the second installation of the 701 CCA Prize with finalists Andrew Blanchard of Spartanburg, Shannon Rae Lindsey of Columbia and Karen Ann Myers of Charleston.
