Preservation Conservation ARTS Happening: Celebrating Heritage, History and Environment at Drayton Mills

Converse College and Drayton Mills present a Preservation Conservation ARTS Happening: Celebrating Heritage, History and Environment at Drayton Mills, April 26 in Spartanburg. Converse’s School of the Arts presents a community collaboration exploring our relationship to space and culture through the lens of mill culture in an evening of performance art and installation experiences at the newly renovated Drayton Mills Loft Apartments. The event aims to recreate and deconstruct the space that once housed the mill industry and now serves the growing professional class in Spartanburg. An opening reception with hors d’oeuvres kicks off the evening, and Rubino’s Food Truck will be on site. Guests can enjoy music performances by the Petrie School of Music, performances by the Department of Theatre and Dance, mill house design by interior design students, and sculpture and activities at meditation spaces along the walking trail.
