RESCHEDULED: 2015 Rosewood Arts Festival

The Fifth Annual Rosewood Arts Festival has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rosewood Arts Festival is an annual, free, family-friendly arts festival co-hosted by the Trenholm Artists Guild and Rockaway Athletic Club, held on the grounds of Rockaway’s in Columbia’s Rosewood Neighborhood (2719 Rosewood Drive). Again this year, more than 100 artists from across the Palmetto State and Southeast region will showcase their artwork, which includes traditional canvas painting, jewelry, ceramics, mosaics, woodworking and even more eclectic art such as painted vegetables and robot lamps. There are two stages of entertainment, featuring the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra Musicians, Tom Hall & the Plowboys, Flat-Out Strangers, the Dawn Key Shotguns, Project Brass, Park Street Quintet, Chase Asmer, Practically Perfect Princesses, the Columbia College High-Cs and student string quartet, and more. RAF will also be featuring authors tables this year, plus crafts for children and roaming singing princesses and magicians. Festival sponsors include the City of Columbia (Famously Hot!), US Foods, Rosewood Merchants Association, Pepsi, Ameris Bank, Budweiser of Columbia, and First Citizens Bank.

Special note: During the recent floods in Columbia, many of the buildings at Epworth Children’s Home sustained damages to HVAC and water heater units when the units were submerged in flooded basements. While buildings are dry and now in great shape, replacing these utility units has created more than $30,000 in uninsured and unbudgeted expenses. All donations collected by a donation jar at the Epworth tent at the Rosewood Arts Festival will be used to make flood-related repairs at the Epworth campus. Also, all proceeds from bottled Pepsi products will be donated to Epworth Children’s Home.
