15th Anniversary Service of Remembrance

The 15th Anniversary Service of Remembrance at Columbia’s Incarnation Lutheran Church on September 11th at 4 p.m. will feature Samuel Barber’s well-known work, Adagio for Springs and Faure’s most beloved Requiem, sung by a choir of 52 singers and chamber orchestra. Other choral works include a Psalm setting by local Columbia composer Cody Jones and Stephen Paulus’ Pilgrim Hymn. A small ensemble will give the Southeastern premiere of Eric Whitacre’s arrangement of the Star-Spangled Banner. The handbell choir will premiere a composition by South Carolina native Philip M. Young, written for this event. Free.
