We didn’t intend for our content to be heavy on job postings today, but we take what we can get.
For any of you who like colder weather or are just feeling that New England vibe, Rhode Island State Council on the Arts has embarked on a job search for its next deputy director.
Our deputy director is responsible for planning and implementing federal and state grant programs and projects including investment, capacity building, and cultivation of arts and cultural resources for the state. Also, the deputy director can act with the full authority of the executive director in all matters in the E.D.’s absence.
In addition to managing the grant programs for arts and culture organizations, the deputy, in collaboration with the E.D., monitors program budgets and payments to grant recipients; supervises state accounting and payment systems; and works on any necessary preparations for audits. The position is tasked with overseeing purchasing and contracting functions, including compliance with purchasing policy and procedures, and the development, establishment and supervision of evaluation procedures for grant programs.
