Carolina’s Got Art! invites amateur and professional artists in South Carolina and North Carolina to enter its 2015 juried shows scheduled for May and June at the Elder Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina. The entry deadline is March 15, 2015.

For 2015, organizers have added a juried ceramics competition to celebrate the rich history of ceramic art in the Carolinas. Internationally acclaimed ceramic artist Peter Callas will serve as juror. The juror for the main competition will be Elizabeth Rathbone, chief curator emerita for the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C.

Exhibition highlights:

  • Prizes – $20,000 in cash and prizes
  • Carolina’s Got Art! Juried Show – Held at Elder Gallery during the month of May 2015. Selected pieces will be displayed as the “best of the best of Carolina artwork.” The juror will be on hand opening night to meet artists and the community and will host a discussion the following morning in the gallery. Awards will be presented during the opening night.
  • The CGA! Salon & Ceramics Show – This second juried exhibition will immediately follow the CGA! Juried Show and be held throughout the month of June 2015. Pieces will also be exhibited at Elder Gallery. Work for these shows will be chosen by Larry Elder, the gallery owner and founder of CGA! Ceramic pieces will be chosen by Peter Callas.

Works chosen for the show(s) can be dropped off at various locations in South Carolina and North Carolina rather than being delivered to Charlotte.
