Artist residencies offer new direction

Artist residencies are designed to offer artists time and space away from their daily obligations so that they may concentrate on developing and expanding their art. Some residencies charge a fee, and some offer funds for materials. The length of a residency can vary from one week to one year or longer. There are residency programs all over the United States, but here are four programs not far from South Carolina that are currently accepting applications. We’d like to know about other nearby residency opportunities and hear about your experience if you’ve participated in a residency.
