West Main Artists Co-op
In the fall of 2009, West Main Baptist Church, an empty and nearly forgotten landmark, was transformed into West Main Artists Co-op to provide affordable studio and exhibition space for local artists. The 20,000 square-foot building houses 32 studios for more than 40 artists. The public can view exhibitions, purchase locally made art and attend performances, workshops and educational programs. The art galleries are open to the public Thursdays and Fridays from 3 – 6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and by appointment. The Co-op also participates in Spartanburg Art Walk, held on the third Thursday of the month.
