Coastal Carolina’s War & Society Film Series presents Wes Anderson’s 2014 comedy, The Grand Budapest Hotel October 12 at 12:30 p.m at the¬†Myrtle Beach Education Center. This Academy Award-nominated film tells the story of Gustav H., a legendary concierge at the famous Grand Budapest Hotel, and his most-trusted companion Zero Mustafa, the lobby boy with whom he teams up to clear his name of murder. This film shows the dramatically changing political landscape of Europe between World War 1 and 2. After the screening, Philip Whalen, CCU professor of history, provides historical and political context for the film. Free.
