The Enterable Mirror
The Enterable Mirror, an exhibition of landscape scenes of water by former adjunct professor Chrys Riviere-Blalock will be on display Aug. 6 through Sept. 28 in the Tucker Student Center Gallery at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. “My process of painting is simple: seeing and responding,” Riviere-Blalock shared. “What I see is exhilarating—vast space, a robust and wondrously alive landscape that is simultaneously as delicate and fragile as each spring’s new leaf. The transience of this physical environment becomes a mirror for an inner reality, a metaphor for the awareness of human mortality coexisting with the exuberance of life.” A reception is planned for August 30 from 4 to 6 p.m., with an artist talk at 5 p.m. Free.
