The Depth of Wire by Noah James Saunders
Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Noah James Saunders has worked as a full-time sculptor and jeweler for the past 25 years, with the aim to make art that goes as deep as his imagination, which is a lifelong journey of discovery. He has shown his work regularly in solo and juried exhibitions in galleries and universities across the southeast, including ArtFields 2019, in which his Luminous won People’s Choice Award. The Lake City ArtFields Collective now presents the first-ever survey of the artist’s 30-year conversation with wire, featuring his early wire sculptures and favorite creations that paved the way for his most recent works. The Depth of Wire will also include Saunders’ jewelry and ceramics juxtaposed with the fabric art of Andrea Wellnitz. On view through March 21st, at TRAX Visual Art Center in Lake City.
