The Crucible

Greenville’s Glow Lyric Theatre presents the opera The Crucible July 13-28 at the Fine Arts Center of Greenville County as part of the 2017 Summer Festival Season, “Question Authority.” The Crucible, the story of the Salem Witch Trials, was originally conceived as an allegory about McCarthy’s political “witch hunts” of the 1950s. This opera (in English) was composed by Robert Ward and was based on the original play by Arthur Miller. It won both the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Music and the New York Music Critics Circle Citation. Tickets $35 general, $45 reserved.
