North Charleston City Gallery Exhibit — Rick Austin and George Gregory
The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department will present an exhibition of works by Rick Austin and George Gregory August 3 – 31 at the North Charleston City Gallery. Local artist Rick Austin will present Observations, an exhibition of paintings and drawings. Austin paints natural realism, and his work is greatly influenced by 18th century Impressionism, 19th century Tonalism, as well as early American illustrators. George Gregory of Columbia will present Pixel-ed Images, a collection of mixed media pieces that draw upon personal narratives from his childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Gregory utilizes a unique approach to his artwork, manipulating thousands of clear push pins, sequins, and other materials to create a 3D effect with his images. The artists will host a free reception at the gallery August 3, from 5 – 7 p.m. Free admission and parking.
