College of Charleston International Piano Series
College of Charleston School of the Arts’ International Piano Series features Dr. Igor Lipinski February 13 at Sottile Theatre. Lipinski made his American orchestra debut with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on NPR’s Performance Today and has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, Woodstock Mozart Festival Orchestra, and Paderewski Symphony Orchestra at Chicago’s Symphony Center. Lipinski is also an award-winning magician: after an unusual collaboration with the legendary magician Teller from the duo Penn & Teller, Lipinski won the WQXR’s Classical Comedy Contest at Caroline’s on Broadway. His program of Piano Illusions, a concert of music and magic, has since been featured throughout the U.S. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University, and is on faculty at the University of Oklahoma. Tickets $20; free for College of Charleston employees and students.
