Alice of the Mind, A Play by Sam Shepard

The College of Charleston School of the Arts presents Alice of the Mind, a play by Sam Shepard, October 30th through November 10th in the Chapel Theatre. The New York Times called the work, “…the unmistakable expression of a major writer nearing the height of his powers.” A collision of distorted perceptions and irony, the play explores two families, linked by marriage but divided by distrust, to probe the perils of lives that have been directed by lies. Told in three acts and set in the modern American West, this story alternates between the two families after a severe incident of spousal abuse triggers realizations for some, and desperate moves for others.
